1880 Train

One of the highlights of our visit to Hill City SD was getting on the 1880 train. The steam train like ones used in the gold rush era of local history takes you from Hill City to Keystone (about 9 miles).

Along the way we were robbed by some bandits but the law was quick to respond and the wayward thieves were subdued.

On the return trip, the sun went down and a few of us used the opportunity to catch some shut eye.

We also saw quite a few deer along the way.
