Thermopolis Wyoming Hot Springs

Kenny and Lori discovered this little town 20 years ago as they were making their way to Alaska. Thermopolis has the worlds largest hot spring and as a result of a treaty with the Indians that owned the land the bath houses where you can soak in the hot mineral water are free to the public.

There are 27 minerals in the water which claim to have healing properties. The Indians even referred to the location as a place of healing water.

The pictures show the hot springs at the source where the water comes up from the ground at 138 degrees and how it spills over mineral terraces and ultimately to the Little Big Horn River.

Linda and Lori took a trip to the hot springs and soaked their weary bones.
